Meet the patient
A 14-year-old boy is back in your clinic after his third school exclusion. He has broken a classmate's nose, set fire to a wheelie bin, and stays out overnight despite every prohibition. His mother, exhausted and harsh, shrugs: "he has been like this since he was six."[1][6]
The registrar reaches for a risperidone chart. The examiner's question is sharper: "Which pathway is he on, and what would actually change it?" Moffitt gave you the vocabulary to answer that — and most of the treatment lives in the family and the school, not the prescription pad.[1][7]
