Child passenger safety means matching the child to the most protective restraint that still fits: rear-facing harness as long as possible, then forward-facing harness, then belt-positioning booster, then adult lap–shoulder belt, with rear seating for younger children. Bicycle safety is more than a slogan about helmets; helmets reduce head injury risk when a crash happens, while infrastructure and rider behaviour reduce crash opportunity. Pedestrian safety recognises developmental limits: most children under about 10 need adult supervision in traffic.
