Data viva — cranial nerves and the autonomic outflows
A Primary anatomy data viva — read a cranial-nerves and autonomic-outflows diagram; classify the twelve nerves (sensory/motor/mixed); give the airway-relevant nerves (V, IX, X, XII); contrast sympathetic (thoracolumbar, paravertebral chain, stellate ganglion) with parasympathetic (craniosacral, terminal ganglia).

Stimulus
A labelled diagram shows the twelve cranial nerves emerging from the underside of the brain (I to XII in sequence) on the left, and on the right a spinal column with the sympathetic chain (thoracolumbar T1-L2) drawn in amber on each side and the parasympathetic craniosacral outflows (CN III, VII, IX, X at the top and S2-S4 at the bottom) in blue. Identify the cranial nerves, classify them, and contrast the two autonomic outflows.
