Non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) is myocardial ischaemia at rest or on minimal exertion caused by a partially or intermittently occlusive intra-coronary thrombus over a disrupted atherosclerotic plaque, but without the ST elevation that mandates immediate reperfusion.
