Oxygen cylinder exhaustion during surgery
The hot cylinder-exhaustion case — the pipeline is already failed, the cylinder is now empty. Ventilate with the self-inflating bag and the room air, call for the portable cylinder, wake the patient if the surgery allows.

During a prolonged surgery with a pipeline failure, the oxygen cylinder runs out. The oxygen flowmeter falls to zero. The saturation begins to fall. Manage.
Presentation
During a prolonged major abdominal surgery (the pipeline oxygen failed 80 minutes ago, the anaesthetic is running on the E-size cylinder oxygen), the oxygen cylinder pressure gauge falls to zero. The oxygen flowmeter bobbin falls. The ventilator bellows begins to fall. The oxygen saturation falls from 98 to 92 per cent.[22563958]
